Pastoral Adultery Pt. 1

So I've noticed a growing trend recently among grown men lusting after pastors. What do I mean by this? Well what I mean is that, though they have a pastor of their own, they like to replace these preachers with a "cooler" or more articulate pastor. Now, this may be alright if they are supplementing what they have heard from their church pulpit already, but that's not what's going on anymore. Men are staying away from church on Sunday mornings and they'll blame it on their pastor's inability to preach well. Just because your pastor isn't as good looking or a biblical scholar doesn't mean that he should be avoided. Church is more than the preacher. Church is a community where the word of God is converted into faith, which results in action. Sitting at home in your jammies, eating cereal, surfing the net and watching last week's Driscoll or Piper sermon isn't exactly community. Want him to be your pastor? Move to Seattle or Minneapolis and join their community. Want to be biblical? Stop lusting after pastors.

Amen Benson, I know some people who do this... there is so much more to church than the sermon!
